Professional associations create opportunities for people and institutions with shared goals to connect, exchange knowledge and develop together. For pharmacy schools and academics across Africa, the Association of Schools of Pharmacy in Africa (ASPA) is designed to provide such a platform.

Membership is open to Schools, Faculties and Departments of Pharmacy in tertiary institutions across Africa, as well as individual academic staff affiliated with pharmacy schools. ASPA also provides for associate or affiliate membership involving organisations and groups connected to the pharmaceutical profession.

Professional Development

ASPA proposes continuous professional development opportunities through workshops, online classes and member-focused materials. These initiatives are intended to support members in developing their knowledge and capabilities throughout their professional careers.

Mentorship is another important benefit, providing opportunities for experienced professionals to share their expertise while allowing others to learn from colleagues with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical sector.

Expand Your Professional Network

ASPA membership creates opportunities for academics and professionals from different institutions and countries to meet and build relationships.

Events, including annual conferences, can enable members to expand their professional networks, discover potential collaborators and exchange ideas with colleagues working in pharmacy education across Africa.

Opportunities for Institutions

The benefits extend beyond individual academics. ASPA proposes opportunities for staff exchanges, access to expertise and facilities, collaboration on new programmes and stronger relationships between pharmacy students across institutions.

By becoming part of ASPA, members join a growing network committed to advancing pharmacy education, research and collaborative practice throughout Africa.
